This stir-fried Napa Cabbage is a quick dish and good for lunch or dinner that can serve with cooked rice or as alternative to a cold salad. Yum!
Ingredients:
1 head or about 2 pounds of Napa Cabbage, cleaned and roughly chopped
1 carrot, thin sliced
10 shrimps, peeled, deveined or tofu (optional)
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
pinch salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons canola oil
1/2 cup water or chicken stock
Directions:
In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, add canola oil and heat.
Add the garlic and stir in shrimps until cooked and set them aside.
Add the cabbage, carrot, and water or chicken stock and cook until just starting to wilt. I like my dish to have a liquid in order to eat with rice but it is optional.
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper and stir well.
Cook until cabbage is wilted but depending on how soft you like.
Stir in cook shrimps and check the seasonings.
Serve hot with cooked jasmine rice and fish sauce with chilies: nam-pla-prik. Yum!
